Zoo today!
We're just about to leave to head off to the zoo- I DID take pictures with my regular camera at the rally-test (rally and protest) yesterday, but it might take a little bit more time to get the photos online, because I'm going to blur some of the faces. I'll have a full account of that, as well as my interesting trip home posted online by this afternoon/evening. Keep reading! Thinking of you all! :)

Alright, so I lied again! Today didn't exactly go as planned either- tomorrow seems like the day to update- free(er) morning, and then I'm very possibly hopefully going to an Iran Elections protest tomorrow at the Seattle Sculpture Gardens... IF I go, (and it's a distinct possibility) there will be live updates, as well as pictures and videos. :) Gnight! (Or to my morning readers,) Good Morning! :)
What happens in Africa...
READ BEFORE WATCHING THE VIDEO
This is a real video from a French documentary about Africa . You may not understand a word that's being said, but the video's a hoot. There are trees that grow in Africa which, once a year, produce very juicy fruits that ferment and (obviously) then contain a large percentage of alcohol. Because there is a shortage of water, as soon as the fruits are ripe, animals go there to help protect themselves from the heat, and hey- if you're thirsty...
What happens next, you can watch for yourself.

So yesterday..
It didn't go quite as planned. But today is where I plea for redemption. Pictures to come! Promise!

I'm still kickin'!
Hello Blogosphere!
First off, I'd like to apologize for my lack of any real updates (other than things like, oh, sunsets, or adorable children.) I've been incredibly busy (which is a good thing!) but it prevents me from writing as much as I'd like. (Phew! Got that out of the way!)
Secondly, If you've emailed me in the past week, and follow this blog (*winkwink*) I have a relatively free schedule these upcoming few days, and should be able to (finally!) respond to your email(s) with the proper credit they undoubtedly deserve!
Third(ly) I have lots and LOTS of Pictures taken this past Saturday during our day trip to Fremont, Washington. It's a cute little funky town that, as I like to put it, is "More Asheville than Asheville!) I'll try to get those up sometime tomorrow, so check throughout the day as there will be LOTS of updates as well as some minor (but nevertheless FUN) event recaps from the past few days... (Maybe even some non-Facebook exclusives!). Stay tuned! (Or.. whatever you say in blogspeak!)

Day off.. Phew!
I've got a day off, and am REALLY enjoying it! The thought of doing simply nothing makes me happy to no end right now. I'm missing everyone at Kids Camp! :( Oh well. That's all for now, folks!
P.S. If you haven't noticed, I have a Twitter account(located in the upper right corner of this blog. If you're on Twitter and would like to follow me, my username is "Theknittingnerd". It's hard to believe that today is the one month "anniversary" of my coming here to Seattle. Sadly much of my online lives (email, facebook, forums, etc.) have gone relatively neglected, but I've exchanged them for much more. I've accomplished so much since I've been here, that at times I feel like I've been here for more like two months instead of merely one. I guess the only explanation is that time flies when you're having fun! As much as I adore my family and friends, I must say that I haven't had the pit-of-your-stomach feeling of homesickness that I was expecting to hit, of course that's probably due to that same amazing family, (and friends!) who refuseto give into the concept of out of sight, out of mind. That's all for now-write more tomorrow. -M

As I mentioned in an earlier post, today was SO much better than yesterday. Today I knew a little more of what to do and what was required of me, as well as knowing some people... I also didn't turn as red as yesterday. YAY! After I worked, I was picked up by Aunt Cindi and taken to the youth Care Group, which was nice. I walked in the door and was greeted by a, "Hi Molly, We're all really exhausted today, so We're going to just chill tonight and eat ice cream!" which was exactly what I needed. THEN (oh yes, there's a then!) Aunt Cindi and I took off to Bauhaus, the awesome coffee shop that I mentioned yesterday. I immediately felt like I was back in downtown Asheville. Good coffee, good location, good conversation, and good night! :) P.S. pictures soon!

Today was a long day- and I came home probably the "tired-est" I've been in quite some time. My position as Courtesy Clerk has me gathering the carts from the way too hot parking lot throughout the day, sweeping the store, checking the bathrooms hourly, and doing go-backs, or re-stocking the shelves with unopened or unused returned items. My face turned the exact (I'm NOT kidding- EXACT) color of a Lobster, and stayed that way for awhile. I had to assure Kendra, the girl I trained under today, that I wasn't nearly as overheated as I looked... I got some really odd looks. Oh well! Going to an end of year BBQ on Saturday, held by the church. I'm excited! The weather is REALLY hot; 84 inside with no AC. Apparently, you don't need it around here. Yay fans! :)

Late night coffee! Books! Read Me!
Okay, I know I said that "That was all for now" but I forgot a few things. First off, I REALLY love the King County Library System (I also love MY library back home- Hey Amanda and Abbey!) KCLS has over 40 libraries sprinkled over King County, and chances are they'll have a book that you want. All you have to do is place a hold on the book and it arrives in a matter of days... Yay! Next on the agenda, I haven't been here yet, but really want to! Bauhaus Books and Coffee (If you're reading this, Keith and Amy, HI! I miss you!) is a coffee shop (and book shop) open until 1am... Perfect for caffeine addicts. (I'll have a 16oz triple iced NF hazelnut latte, please!) Okay, I really think I'm done for now... later!
Work today!
Yes, today, June 1st, was my first day on the job at Top, a grocery store. Nothing much happened, I really just had my orientation. Lots of paper work, and three different safety videos. Tomorrow is when I start actual training. I got my Food Handlers permit on Saturday- I learned to wash my hands! Haha, no, It was a bit (quite a bit) more informative than that, but mostly dealt with actual food.. I'll be sweeping floors, cleaning bathrooms and collecting carts. :) That's all for now- I'd post more pictures, but they're currently tied up on a computer that has a broken monitor. Lovely, eh?
